REVIEW:Kelly Clarkson - I Do Not Hook Up

Earlier this year, Kelly Clarkson managed to do the impossible with her comeback single, My Life Would Suck Without You. She broke Britney's record of the longest jump in positions ever on the Billboard Hot 100, by jumping from 97 to No.1 in a week. It was her comeback to pop music, after a change in direction to a darker, more rock influenced third record lead to a huge drop in sales.

Hoping to continue her success, she's here once again with second single off her new album, All I Ever Wanted, a poppy, dance-a-long tune called I Do Not Hook Up. Written by fellow popstar Katy Perry, it has just enough guitar rifts to pass for pop/rock. And everything aside, it's a very pleasant, enjoyable little track. Personally I would rank it above the frankly boring, MLWSWY.

A wise choice from Kelly for second single, it will bring in the teens as well as satisfying her more mature audience. A definite step up.

STAR RATING: 4 out of 5
